Practical Aspects
-All you need to get started is a computer (with a webcam and a microphone) and a screen capture software. At French American we use Screencast'o'matic which has a free web based version and a very cheap pro version with a few more capabilities.
-Podcasts should not be longer than 10 to 12 minutes, beyond that they should be cut into several episodes.
-Podcasts don't need to be perfect (except for the content being accurate obviously), they should not be edited. If you seek perfection the production time will be far too long and you will not be able to keep up.
-Students connect with their teacher so they want to see him/her on the podcast. Also it helps to see the face of the person talking so make sure you do include your video.
-If you school is an ECIS school you can publish your podcasts on the ECIS iTunes U page. Otherwise you can use Youtube accounts or your personal web page.
